🏡 Understanding Your Home & Living Options Under the NDIS

Enhance Hope Services is here to guide you through the different Home & Living supports available in your NDIS plan. Our team helps you understand your options, complete assessments, and choose supports that suit your goals and lifestyle.

🟦 SIL – Supported Independent Living

SIL helps you live as independently as possible by providing daily support in a shared or independent home.
Supports may include:
✔ Personal care
✔ Meal preparation
✔ Daily living assistance
✔ 24/7 or scheduled support
✔ Skill development
✔ Community participation

We currently offer SIL homes in: Wanneroo, Armadale, Warnbro & Bunbury.

🟩 SDA – Specialist Disability Accommodation

SDA is funded for participants who need housing designed for high support needs. SDA covers the building, not the support.
Homes may include:
✔ High physical support designs
✔ Improved liveability features
✔ Fully accessible environments
✔ Robust features for safety and stability

We support participants to find SDA providers and transition safely.

🟧 ILO – Individualised Living Options

ILO provides flexible, personalised home & living arrangements. Perfect for participants who want to live:
✔ On their own
✔ With friends
✔ With a host family
✔ With tailored support that suits their lifestyle

ILO focuses on choice, control, and independence.

🟪 STA / MTA – Short & Medium-Term Accommodation

Offers temporary accommodation and support when:
✔ You need respite
✔ Your usual supports are unavailable
✔ You are transitioning between homes
✔ You need a safe place after hospital discharge

STA = up to 14 days
MTA = up to 90 days

🔍 Functional Assessments Required

To access Home & Living supports, you may need assessments such as:
✔ OT Functional Capacity Assessments
✔ ADL Assessments
✔ Behaviour Support Assessments
✔ Home & Living Evidence Form
✔ Allied Health Reports

Our team assists you in gathering the necessary evidence and submitting strong applications.

Understanding Your NDIS Funding Categories, A simple guide for NDIS Participants

1. Core Supports – Everyday Living
Helps you with daily activities and essential supports.
Includes:
Assistance with Daily Living (ADL)
Consumables
Social & Community Participation
Transport
Flexible: You can move funds between most Core categories.

2. Capacity Building – Building Skills for Independence
Supports your long-term skill development and independence.
Includes:
Support Coordination
Improved Daily Living (Therapy: OT, Physio, Psych, Speech)
Improved Health & Wellbeing
Improved Learning
Improved Relationships (Behaviour Support)
Finding & Keeping a Job
Improved Life Choices (Plan Management)
Improved Living Arrangements
Note: Funding cannot be moved between CB categories

3. Capital Supports – High-Cost & Specialised Items
Covers assistive technology and home/vehicle modifications.
Includes:
Assistive Technology (wheelchairs, communication devices, beds, hoists)
Home Modifications (ramps, bathrooms, rails)
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
Requires quotes and approval.
