This year, our incredible nom! Schools team delivered 118 hands-on sessions to more than 1,740 students across 38 schools in Perth metro area, the Pilbara, and townships of Bunbury and Geraldton.

It was a year full of learning, tasty recipes and inspired students who took their new skills from the classroom straight to their kitchens at home.

The feedback from teachers, students and parent helpers has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re so proud to see the impact of this program and can’t wait to bring nom! Schools to even more classrooms in 2026.

💜 Huge thank you to PLS and Mineral Resources for supporting this program and enabling us to empower students across WA.

What goes into building a nom! program? 🤔

From planning a session to prepping ingredients and setting up community spaces, our nutritionists do it all. 💪🏼

Every session is designed to meet people where they’re at - whether it’s a wellbeing group, school or community centre. We bring the ingredients, the know-how and the heart. 💜

In this series you will get to go behind-the-scenes with our nom! Nutritionists and see how we feed change through nutrition education. 🤗💜

What does it take to make nutrition education accessible in regional areas? And how can we empower both adults and young people to make healthier choices? 🤔🤔

Last month, we’re proud to share the impact of our nom! nutrition education sessions across the Wheatbelt, made possible through the generous support of Arc Infrastructure. Their commitment ensures that vital knowledge reaches communities that need it most. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏼

Across all sessions in Moora and Lancelin, we engaged 21 participants, sparking conversations about food, health and confidence in making better choices.

With Arc Infrastructure’s support, we’re not just teaching nutrition, we’re helping build healthier futures for regional communities. 💜

Last month, our Public Health Nutritionists travelled to Hedland, Karratha and Roebourne to deliver nom! Children nutrition education and cooking programs to parents of children 0-5 years. 🤗🤗

It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships with community members and organisations that share a similar passion for food and community wellbeing. It was great to see familiar faces at Hedland Well Women's Centre, Karratha Family Centre, Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd and Bloodwood Tree, and cook tasty, affordable dishes using the 5 core food groups.

It was a privilege to support families in creating nutritious meals for their families, share strategies for harmonious mealtimes and discuss how to pack a balanced lunchbox. It was a wonderful week connecting and empowering people through food. 🌽🥕🥦

What if the secret to saving money and reducing food waste was as simple as a label? 🏷️🤔

Jasmin is a nutritionist at Foodbank WA and a proud Great Unwaster. Her go-to tip? Label everything that goes into the fridge or freezer. That way, she always knows what she has on hand when it’s time to whip up a quick meal.

It’s a small habit that makes a big difference; helping reduce waste, save money and make the most of every bite. 💜🌏

Join Jasmin and the Great Unwaste and let's turn food waste around.

In September, our nom! Children team of nutritionists headed north to sunny Newman 🌞 to deliver nutrition education and cooking sessions to parents in the Pilbara.

It was great to reconnect with familiar faces at South Newman Primary School Kindilink and The Newman Community Centre. The team were lucky enough to be invited to run sessions at new locations including The Y and Jigalong Youth Centre.

A big shout out to Hancock Iron Ore for taking the team out to Jigalong for the day so they could deliver the program to the local playgroup parents.

It was a joy to support families on their journey of feeding their kids with confidence. 🤗

We’re grateful for the support of Hancock Iron Ore and Telethon7 Perth, who help us bring nom! Children programs to more communities across Western Australia. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏼💜

From 13 to 19 October, we’re celebrating National Nutrition Week, a time to highlight the power of nutrition and the role it plays in our wellbeing. 🥕🌽🥦

At Foodbank WA, we believe everyone should have access to nutritious food. 🍽️ That’s why we deliver nutrition education through our nom! programs, helping Western Australians of all ages make healthy choices on budget.

Our team of nine nutritionists and dietitians work across the state, including regional and remote communities, empowering people with the skills to cook, plan and eat well.

We also support over 560 schools through our School Breakfast Program, giving more than 25,600 children a healthy start to their day every week. 💪🏼💪🏼

This week is a reminder that good nutrition isn’t just about food - it’s about dignity, connection and opportunity. 💜
