📣 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already shown support for the proposed Coastal Boardwalk.

We’re sharing again because this project really matters for our community and our coastline.

Some may point out that Council has set it aside before. But the reality is that many people simply didn’t know the consultation was happening.

📌 In 2005, only 75 people made a submission.
📌 In 2013, there were 502 responses—mostly from those who opposed it, which didn’t reflect the broader community view.

⏳ Consultation closes 30 August. If you’d like to see this project go ahead, now is the time to add your voice—it only takes 2 minutes.

➡️ Share your support here: https://stirling.my.site.com/stirling/s/community-consultation-submission-form

✨ Every person in a household with an email address can take part—it’s not limited to just one submission.

🙏 Please feel free to pass this on to friends, family and neighbours so the whole community has the chance to be heard.

Have your say!
As you know, I’m not an activist and I don’t like confrontation.
I’m all for calm, peace and solutions that bring us together.
But when something is too close to my heart—especially when it involves the health and safety of children, families, and our local community—I’m willing to raise my hand.

If you’ve ever walked the dual-use path between Scarborough and Trigg along West Coast Highway, you’ll know what I mean.
I walk there every day—alone, with my husband on our morning walk, with my grandchild in a pram, and with clients for our 'walk and talk'.
And most days, I feel unsafe.
Big trucks and fast cars speed past just metres away, throwing up dust and noise. One day I saw a car scrape the underpass railing. There have been several other minor accidents, and honestly, it feels like only a matter of time before something worse happens.

Aside from the physical danger, there’s the invisible one: air pollution.
Research shows that walking just one metre from high-speed traffic—like we do here—exposes us (and especially children who are closer to the ground ) to toxic air levels well beyond what’s considered safe.
This kind of long-term exposure has been linked to asthma, heart issues, cognitive problems, and even developmental delays in kids.

This is why I fully support the proposed environmentally-sensitive boardwalk between Scarborough and Trigg.
It’s a solution that prioritises safety, wellbeing and the natural beauty of our coastline. Similar boardwalks along the Swan River and in Floreat show it can be done well—without harming the environment, and in fact, helping people reconnect with it.

The City of Stirling is currently seeking community feedback—and now is the time to speak up.

If this issue matters to you, please add your voice.

✔️ It takes less than 5 minutes
✔️ You’ll get to see the design and environmental reports
✔️ This project has been talked about since 2005—let’s help it finally happen .
