The WA Premier tonight announced a snap, four day lockdown for the Perth and Peel regions effective 12.01am Tuesday 29 June.
The APA team are currently working through the implications for physio and will endeavor to have clarity as quickly as possible tomorrow morning. We believe physio will be classified as an essential service based on statements in tonight’s press conference however, clarity will be sought on face to face consults as a matter of urgency.
In the interim, the following has been announced regarding reasons to leave home:
• You need to work because you can't work from home, or remotely (a full list of essential workers and services will be uploaded on the WA Health as soon as possible).
• To shop for essentials like groceries, medicines and necessary supplies.
• To attend to medical or healthcare needs including emergencies, compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable.
• To get vaccinated.
• And exercise with a maximum of two adults from the same household, children under 18 years and limited to one hour per day within 5km radius from home and masks must be worn except for vigorous exercise.
The following will also be implemented:
• Public venues search as swimming pools and recreation centres will close.
• Fitness venues including private exercise venues, gyms, pilates, yoga, dance studios to close.
• No visitors will be allowed in homes unless it is for essential services, critical maintenance, care giving and compassionate reasons or in an emergency.
• Travel outside the Perth and Peel region is not permitted unless you are exempt in order to obtain or provide essential goods or services or other compassionate and medical reasons.
• Unless exempt, people in Perth and Peel are required to wear masks outside of the home, in all indoor settings, on public transport and outdoors at all times except when participating in vigorous exercise.
