Sarahjane spent this weekend deep in the world of cranial osteopathy with Dr Lisa DeStefano - two full days of refining touch, learning new techniques and diving deeper into the subtleties of osteopathic care.

There is something special about stepping out of clinic, learning alongside passionate practitioners, and coming back with fresh perspective and renewed focus.

A few snaps here with our good friend Addison from - always good to share the learning journey.

Day 1 of OTMH looking after the dancers of the CERCLES XXL workshop.

Over the next three days, we’ll be providing osteopathic care and advice to 12 professional and 150 amateur dancers during rehearsals in the incredible Winthrop Hall at UWA.

Then it’s showtime - three days of performances in Forrest Place.

It’s a free open-air event and we’re proud to be partnering with to support the artists behind it.

If you’re in the city from Thursday onwards, come down and check it out.

A big happy 4-0 to our charismatic Colombian, Alvaro 🎉

Celebrating in style with his husband and visiting mum, sister and brother-in-law from Melbourne – in true Alvaro style, we were treated to a night of incredible food, live music, dance performances and great company 💚

Honestly, he doesn’t look a day over 30… just don’t tell him we said that 🤫

From all of your patients and the OTMH team, we hope you have an amazing birthday today Alvaro 🤩

One of the most common things we hear in clinic:

“I didn’t injure it… it just gradually tightened up.”

No single moment. No obvious cause. Just a slow build-up until one day your neck won’t turn properly, or your back feels stiff getting out of the car.

Your body is very good at adapting, but that also means it quietly absorbs stress and load over time.

Most people don’t realise how much tension they were carrying until it’s gone.

If something has been quietly tightening up, it’s worth paying attention to.

Happy Lunar New Year 🧧 🐎

The horse represents strength, endurance, and freedom of movement - something we’re passionate about helping our patients preserve every day.

Whether it’s returning to running, staying comfortable through pregnancy, keeping up with your kids, or simply moving without pain, it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.

Wishing you a year of good health, momentum, and moving well!

Pain isn’t always coming from where you feel it most.

Your body works as one connected system, constantly adapting to everything you do – long hours at a desk, running in the Perth heat, gym training, carrying kids, old injuries, and everyday life. Over time, tension and compensation can build in ways that aren’t always obvious.

That’s why osteopathy isn’t just about treating the symptom site. It’s about understanding how your body moves as a whole, finding the true driver behind the issue, and helping restore balance so things can function the way they should again.

Because lasting change comes from treating the cause, not just the symptom.

Yesterday Rob tried to impress an 11-year-old patient by touching his toes and showing off his flexibility…

“Mission accomplished… immediately followed by an abdominal cramp that nearly folded me in half!

Played it cool, obviously. Completely fine. Definitely not dying inside.”

A timely reminder that cramps love to show up when you’re:
• Dehydrated
• Sweating more than usual
• Training hard
• Getting older (apparently 😅)

Heat + humidity + activity = prime cramp territory.

Drink your water. Pace yourself. Don’t show off to children.

We asked everyone their favourite summer activity…

Apparently we all just live at the beach 🌊😅

Summer’s still young and we’re soaking it up 💙

If you’ve been told to “just fix your posture” and it never sticks – there’s a reason.

Posture is dynamic.
It shifts with stress, fatigue, work, training, and life.

Myth: There’s one “perfect” posture you should hold all day.
Reality: Better support and movement beats forcing yourself upright every time.

That’s what we focus on – support, not posture policing.

Most injuries don’t start with a bang 💥
They start quietly - stiffness, tension, “it’s fine for now.”

January is a window where treatment works better:
✅ fresh routines
✅ fewer habits set in
✅ time to get ahead of things

If something’s been lingering since last year, this is your nudge.
