👀 HAD to try this exercise for deep hip rotators and turnout… Visited the gym at an ungodly hour so I could attempt it alone 😅

I LOVE that it’s strengthening in 0 degrees of hip flexion (ie. Body upright) as so many of our traditional turnout exercises have the hip flexed (think clam shells..). The setup of this exercise will improve turnout of the SUPPORTING leg, which is often a barrier for higher extensions anyway!

Flat feet or pronation is often misunderstood in dancers 🤷‍♀️

Pronation is a normal and necessary part of movement, helping the foot adapt and absorb load. The focus should not be on eliminating pronation, but on developing the strength and control to manage it effectively.

When control is lacking, excessive collapse through the arch during plié, jumping, and balance can increase the risk of overload and injury.

Here is a series of exercises to help improve foot strength, enhance control, and support efficient movement in dance technique ✨

Strong, well-controlled feet provide the foundation for improved stability, alignment, and performance!
