In recognition of the last day of this year’s 16 Days in WA campaign, we are proud to share our new Family & Domestic Violence Strategy. This strategy reflects our commitment to create safer, more supportive environments for our consumers and workers. Through a range of actions, Cyrenian House will integrate responses to FDV within our organisation and our existing alcohol and other drug treatment services.

Yesterday was International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This marks the start of WA’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, led by the Department of Communities.

Cyrenian House’s staff and residents from Munda Mia Therapeutic Community joined the 35th March Against Domestic and Family Violence, hosted by the Centre for Women's Safety and Wellbeing - thank you to everyone who marched in solidarity.

Everyone has a role in standing up against family and domestic violence. We all need to play our part to help end the cycle of violence and promote gender equality in Western Australia.

Thank you, Minister, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to visit Rick Hammersley Centre Therapeutic Community; and for your kind words to Parliament. We are proud to deliver these essential AOD treatment services to communities across WA.

It was a privilege to meet Brad and Raisa at the Rick Hammersley Centre a two Western Australians working incredibly hard on their recovery journeys.

Both spoke with honesty about the challenges they’ve faced, and the strength they’ve found through structured support, connection, and a community that believes in them.

Their stories are a powerful reminder that recovery is possible - and that people do better when they can access the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

That’s why we’re committed to building a system that supports every Western Australian, no matter their circumstances, to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
