WA Health’s mosquito monitoring program has detected a spread of Murray Valley Encephalitis ( ) in northern WA.
“It’s clear MVE continues to be active in the and has now spread down into the region in the last week or two” says WA Health Managing Scientist Dr Andrew Jardine.
“The only way to contract MVE is by being bitten by an infected .
“So the best way to avoid the illness is to avoid getting bitten.”
