Wishing a very Happy Australia Day to everyone. Here are some interesting facts about Australia:

1️⃣ - January 26 was the day the First Fleet landed at Sydney Cove in 1788 from England
2️⃣ - Australia Day was called “Foundation Day” in the early part of the nineteenth century
3️⃣ - The first recorded Australia Day celebrations were held on January 26, 1808, to mark twenty years since Captain Arthur Phillip raised the flag at Sydney Cove
4️⃣ - The first colony to declare Australia Day as a public holiday was New South Wales in 1838, on the 50th anniversary of the Sydney Cove landing
5️⃣ - By 1888 nearly all of the colonies had declared a public holiday to celebrate Australia Day, but it wasn’t until the 1940s that January 26th was agreed upon by all states as the proper day to celebrate

1 - Make an effort to perform a simple random act of kindness every day
2 - Donate gently used clothing or non perishable food items
3 - Find a way to volunteer or donate to a cause that’s important to you
4 - Write a letter or send a card to an old friend or grandparent living alone
5 - Listen more than you talk – especially with your kids

As part of the International Day of People with Disabilities, Assign organised a day out for our lovely clients.

Having a Blue Day?

In addition to representing the sky and the sea, blue is also associated with trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, and confidence. According to Psychology, blue calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly.

Our team dressed up in blue and brought in some fun food in blue to create the vibe. Have a great day!

What a difference the relationship with your perfect match support worker can make to your life. Steven was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure. When Steven met us for the first time, he said he lacks motivation and was looking for a support worker willing to guide him with his daily routines and help him get his drive back.

Today, Steven is in the gym with Tristan, his favourite support worker, feeling great about himself! He can now get out and stay engaged in things that motivate him with the help of Tristan.

"My Support is the best thing that's happened to me", says Steven. Steven is an avid football fan and regularly follows the West Coast Eagles.🦅
