If giving up more food or sleep hasn't worked, here's why: Most women focus on the symptom, never the silent signals their body is sending.
I see this pattern everywhere: Women cutting breakfast, skipping lunch, staying up late to get everything done, then wondering why they feel terrible and can't lose weight.
Sound familiar?
We've been taught that less food + less rest = better results.
But your body doesn't work like a simple math equation.
My client Maria was eating 1200 calories and working out six days a week. She was exhausted, cranky, and gaining weight.
"I'm doing everything right," she told me. "Why isn't this working?"
Here's what Maria didn't know: Her body was in protection mode.
When you're under-eating and under-resting, your body thinks there's a famine coming. So it holds onto every calorie and slows everything down to keep you safe.
The moment Maria started eating enough and prioritising sleep, her body relaxed. The weight started coming off naturally, and her energy came flooding back.
She wasn't lazy or lacking willpower. She was just fighting against her body's protective instincts instead of working with them.
Your body has been trying to tell you what it needs all along. The fatigue, the cravings, the stubborn weight—these aren't failures.
They're messages.
When you learn to read these signals correctly, you can give your body what it's actually asking for instead of what diet culture tells you it should want.
Most women are so busy fighting the symptoms, they never discover what their body is really trying to say.
