In home, community and teletherapy options available. Christine Bosch is a certified practising Speech Pathologist with more than 27 years of experience in the autism and disability sector. Christine completed her honours degree in South Africa and worked in schools and a clinic before relocating to Perth, WA with her husband in 2010. Christine completed additional training to become an autism diagnostician and has been completing gold standard ASD diagnostic assessments in Perth and regionally for 11 years. Christine is the co- vice chairperson of the Western Australian Autism Diagnosticians’ Forum (WAADF). She is passionate about working with families through the diagnostic assessment process in collaboration with Meagan Groenewald (Psychologist) of Child Assessment and Psychology Practice. Christine also provides additional services to families, assisting them with navigating through the NDIS planning process. Christine is also passionate about providing evidence-based therapy services to people with autism. She has completed advanced training in the Early Start Denver Model for young children with autism, as well as KONTAKT training and training for Transition to Adulthood for individuals with ASD. She has also completed SOS feeding training and has experience working with individuals with autism to increase the range of foods they will tolerate. Christine is trained to Bridging Level in PROMPT therapy (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and has a special interest in treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech as well as a range of complex speech difficulties in children and adults. Seeing individuals struggling with speech difficulties gradually being able to find their voices and express themselves is a privilege that Christine never gets tired of experiencing. Christine has a wealth of experience in low tech and high tech direct access alternative augmented communication systems (AAC) and has completed training in PODD, LAMP Words for Life, TouchChat, Proloquo2Go and Snap+Core First on a range of communication devices. She has also completed training in Key Word Sign. Christine has a firm belief that communication should be functional and enjoys finding creative ways to teach language, communication and social skills to her clients. Laughter, fun and engagement are key components of all her sessions, making working through difficult goals less daunting. Her little Australian terrier, Ollie, has made frequent appearances in teletherapy sessions as well as in some face to face sessions, to the delight of her clients. Christine also believes that for her clients to achieve their maximum potential, collaboration with the clients’ families, therapy team, medical team, school, workplace and support workers is vital. Christine believes that one of the integral roles of a Speech Pathologist is education and training, as well as giving back to the profession. Christine has presented training on a range of topics including ASD, Developmental Language Delay (DLD), Childhood Apraxia of Speech, working in the disability sector, in a range of forums including schools, organisations, universities, WAADF, and community groups.She is also passionate about providing supervision to other speech pathologists, particularly new graduates. She has also volunteered time working with Beyond Borders providing mentoring to Speech Pathologists in Vietnam.
