Mum Guilt ✨
Mum guilt is real!
I get a lot of mums reach out to share their struggles with putting their self care first.
The thing is, in doing so you teach your children the gift of self love.
You teach your family members the importance of health & wellbeing. That taking time for yourself is an investment worth having, giving permission for others to do the same.
I remember my first holiday away from my husband (at the time) and 2 toddlers. Omg it felt SO wild to even consider such a thing ! This was just over 10 years ago, when society hasn’t quite recognised the value in self love. It just wasn’t a thing. Martyrdom was still alive and kicking 🤨
So you know what I did? I spontaneously booked myself a ticket to see the mother flipping Northern Lights!
Yep, I don’t f**k around.
I was going through a massive upheaval and restock of my life, my childhood traumas, my marriage and was one burnt out mum of 2 under 2.
I can’t remember there being some big Aga moment, and there was certainly no planning…it was a spontaneous F**K IT moment that actually changed my life in ways I never could have imagined.
Once I put it out there to the universe (paid 10k in full on the spot!), just as she always does….the universe conspires her magical ways and with some planning, friends & family support (sharing my kids whilst my husband ran the business) I packed my bags and her settee across Canada with a group of travellers I had never met. I am forever grateful to for teaching me that choosing me was not selfish, it was self serving.
Self-serving is NOT a dirty word 👑
We choose our hard in life, and I chose to take a very well needed time out to stop, breathe, reflect and reset whilst enjoying myself as just ME.
Not mum.
Not wife.
Not daughter.
Not bestie.
Just. Me.
Don’t let yourself hold you back with low vibration self talk. Set your intention and watch the world fall into place.
Reach out!! THIS is my jam!
Nurturing mums (pregnant or not) one Queen at a time 👑
