🔸When it comes to optimal respiration we often do not give the diaphragm muscle the credit it deserves.

▪️A kinesiology session to optimise your diaphragm muscle can improve your lung capacity, lymphatic drainage, core spinal stability plus more.

🔸It is one of the 5 major muscles linked to the Chinese lung meridian and health conditions of the respiratory system.

▪️The alternative nostril breathing is a great technique to strengthen your diaphragm muscle.

🔸Often you will find your body helping you with sadness, anxiety and emotions around respect. Releasing tension around these emotions can restore optimal diaphragm function ✨

Back in 2013, I had the privilege of sitting down for a fascinating podcast interview with the incredible Peter Knight of Peter Knight Golf. And guess what? The topic we discussed is just as relevant today as it was back then!

Peter and I talked about the impact of Kinesiology on sports performance. We explored how understanding the mechanics of the human body can enhance athletic abilities and take performance to new heights. Trust me, the insights and knowledge shared in this conversation are absolute gold!

Even though it was recorded in 2013, the wisdom and principles we discussed are timeless. Whether you're an aspiring athlete, a sports enthusiast, or simply curious about the fascinating world of kinesiology, this interview is a must-listen.

"There are some physiological explanations as to why athletes have higher lung volumes, but still, this is an uncharted field. Studies about athletes’ respiratory functions are rather limited or have been tested on too small number of participants, mostly related to individual sports."

The lungs represent our ability to take life in and let it go. When we get startled, the first thing we do is hold our breath. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the lungs are associated with the metal element, also referred to as the "autumn” of a cycle (be that life, or the end of a goal - its the "letting go") being able to fully take in breath/life and let it go fully involves a cohesiveness of muscles, spine, nerves diaphragm, nose, mouth etc - watch someone breathe fully and deeply with ease and you will see a smooth movement.

Kinesiology sessions targeting the diaphragm and lungs and its ability to move well (with intercostal muscles, neuro pathways, spinal nerves, cranial nerves) enable better breathing and lung capacity which can improve your training and fitness ability as well as a lessening of anxiety.

🔶 The human body has an electrical current that allows the communication between the nervous system and the body. This is what makes it possible for us to move, think and feel.

🔳 Water is an excellent conductor of electricity.

🔶 If the communication is slowed down or impacted by a lack of adequate hydration, there is a knock on affect to how we move think and feel - makes sense right? Like a water mill (or hydro electric dams for the younger generations 😅) less water means a slower turn of the mill, which means slower movement, and therefore slower/inhibited potential.

🔳 Stay tuned to find out how kinesiology can support your hydration for your body's optimum potential!

*FUN FACT when dehydrated the first place your body pulls water from is your skin to support the internal function, so really a lot of "ageing" symptoms is actually just poor hydration *cheapest skin care solution out there!*

🔶Expect to feel calm and relaxed leaving your session!

🔳 Results vary depending on the length of time the issue has been there, usually you will feel at least partial release from your issue after one session however more sessions are generally needed to fully resolve an issue 😊
