Amongst an inbox full of emails everyday … sometimes you get one that just makes your day. Whilst as a surgeon we strive to have great outcomes and happy patients … we sometimes underestimate, and indeed sometimes forget the impact we have on patients, their families and friends. The focus is often about technical outcomes, clinical success, primary patency, and complication rates … when sometimes it should be a meal with friends and smiles on faces.
