Rather than rolling over the large ITB tissue that tensions (It doesn't contract and relax) roll over the quads muscles at the side/front where you can target trigger points in muscles. Photo taken when we were studying our anatomy at 'The Bodies' exhibition.

Rolling the ITB like this achieves nothing apart from bruising and microtrauma. DON'T DO IT to yourself.

The ITB - or Iliotibial Band is the large white connective tissue from the buttock to the knee. It is not a muscle, it is a band that transfers force through the leg as you run and jump. It will not stretch or roll out!!!
