Someone asked in a group I admin this week if there was a homeopathic remedy they can give their child to prevent impetigo because there was an outbreak at their school.
It’s a great question and it brings up one of the really important ideas in homeopathy "susceptibility"
Children can sit in the same classroom, play together, touch the same desks and equipment and be exposed to the very same things that are going around… yet only some of them actually develop symptoms.
Why is that?
Because exposure alone doesn’t always lead to illness. The "vital force" also has to be susceptible for something to take hold.
In homeopathy we pay a lot of attention to this. When a child is supported "constitutionally" we’re working to strengthen their vital force so their system becomes more balanced and resilient.
When the vital force is stronger, the body is better able to regulate and respond to what it encounters. Instead of repeatedly falling into the same patterns of illness, many children begin to experience fewer episodes of being unwell, recover more easily and overall just seem more robust.
This is why working this way can be so valuable. Rather than trying to prevent or chase each thing that is going around, we are supporting the child at a deeper level so their system is less susceptible in the first place.
Over time this can mean fewer recurring complaints, smoother recoveries and a child whose health feels more stable and resilient.
This is why many families choose to work with a homeopath not just when something goes wrong, but to support their child’s health more deeply over the long term.
Have you worked with a Homeopath like this?
