Newborns like to keep us guessing - especially when it comes to tired cues 😅

In Episode 4 of our podcast, Ngala registered nurse Beth breaks down the subtle signs your baby is ready for sleep (think red eyebrows, hand-to-face, looking away) and why their little awake windows can go by fast.

If it feels a bit like Groundhog Day right now, you’re not alone. Keep watching them, keep tuning into their cues… you and your little one are learning from each other. You've got this! 💜

In Episode 1, Preparing for Parenthood, our podcast hosts Jen and Hannah shared a few simple steps that you can think about ahead of time, to help in those early days with a newborn:
💜 Decide your visitor rules (who, when, and how long)
💜 Plan for any vaccination or handwashing requests
💜 Agree on boundaries with your partner
💜 Communicate expectations before baby is here

It's important to remember that postpartum boundaries and support look different for every family. Do what feels right for you and your baby.

With another year almost gone it is time to look back at Ngala's impact in FY24/25 and celebrate some of the successes we had in the latter part of 2025.

The numbers tell an amazing story: Parents are under pressure like never before. Tens of thousands of WA families need our support every year. Anxiety and stress are on the rise. Regional families are also requiring hard-to-get services.

So where to from here?
Thankfully, with significant funding from the WA Government secured in the second half of 2025, Ngala will be here well into the future.

To everyone who has contributed, we want to say a heartfelt thank you. 💜

Today is World Children’s Day 💜

It’s a day to celebrate children everywhere and reflect on the role we all play in creating safe, empowering environments for every child to thrive.

At Ngala, we are committed to upholding children’s rights and ensuring they are safe, respected and supported. We embed the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into everything we do, because child safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Together, let’s honour children’s voices, nurture their potential and create a future where every child belongs.
