hot tips & happy horses 🔥

Let’s be real when the heat hits motivation can drop just as fast as our energy levels 😅

But staying consistent with our horses fitness and our motivation doesn’t have to feel overwhelming 😉

Hot weather fitness can look different for everyone but shorter sessions can still be effective as I always say quality over quantity is key especially this time of year our controlled movement certainly comes into play 🙌

Things like early mornings or late afternoons are your best friend this time of year and walking our horses is so underrated we can also look at those shorter rides while always listening to our horse being mindful of increased respiration excessive sweats or low energy because we can all work smarter not harder all while staying motivated 💪

Mental fitness matters just as much as physical fitness some days it’s not about doing more it’s about doing what you can and staying connected with your horse because this heat can certainly make us be hard on ourselves when we feel we haven’t done enough 😩

Consistency through summer looks different for everyone and that’s OK remember small efforts done regularly still add up and go along way so be kind to yourself and remember quality over quantity makes a huge difference 💪

And that’s a wrap the last horse for the year the big fella ACE 🦄

A day filled with horses all getting ready to kick off their season the right way because muscles matter 🙌

Today was also extra special spent alongside the next generation something very dear to me and I couldn’t think of a better way to end the year while getting super excited for 2026’s plans 🤍

Isabela has been asking to come along and learn more for some time now about the animals she loves so passionately and watching that curiosity unfold in the next generation is something pretty special 🤩

Isabela is always right there when I’m around listening asking thoughtful questions with all her inquisitive presence and she most certainly does her very best to understand how to better support her own ponies 🐎

Horses have an incredible way of teaching and connecting us in so many ways they certainly can help shape who we are as we learn patience empathy responsibility body awareness and emotional regulation all while being in their presence and some of these lessons reach far beyond the paddock for these young go getters giving them so much confidence 💪

When we invite kids into these spaces we’re not just teaching them about horses we’re giving them tools to grow in so many ways and the passion seen in them is wonderful no matter the discipline our next generation show so much compassion and care for these animals which really fills me with so much joy and investing in helping them learn is something I really love I see them light up as they grow their skills and that’s pretty cool 😎

This special fella has just spent some time being started under saddle and is now home for a well earned break 🦄

As horses begin their ridden career their bodies go through huge changes from accepting the weight of a rider to new pressures through their entire musculoskeletal system as we ask them to work in a completely different way this is where movement patterns change as the body learns how to adapt to it all 🐎

Having your horses regularly checked during this phase is so important we all know bodywork supports healthy development while it also helps support them in build strength and encourages freedom of movement to help prevents small restrictions from becoming bigger issues down the track 🐎

When we look after the musculoskeletal system from the very beginning we’re setting them up for comfort confidence and longevity in their ridden career 💪

A supported body creates a willing happy horse and that’s always the goal 🤌

2025 has been filled with so many opportunities connections and shared moments and as we come close to the end of the year and whatever celebration that may look like for each of you I just want to express my gratitude 🙏

It has been an absolute pleasure sharing my time with so many incredible people and truly amazing horses. I genuinely hold a special place for every single horse I’ve had the privilege to treat this year and I’m so thankful for the trust and support you have all shown in what I offer with so much growth this year it really speaks volumes so thank you 🤩

I’m incredibly grateful for my own beautiful horses and the connection we share and I can’t thank you all enough for another wonderful year here at Equitouch 🦄

The Extra Hydration Reminder 💧🐴

With the hotter weather rolling in it’s so important to make sure our horses have clean full water sources every single day so this is also the perfect time to double check the salt levels in their feed and also electrolytes as we all know they play a huge role in keeping them hydrated and feeling good 👍

And remember there’s nothing wrong with getting a little creative with your extra offer ups of water 💦

Lots of people love giving molasses water bentonite clay water or any other safe tasty incentives that encourages their horse to drink more so whatever your go to is now is absolutely the time of year to bring it back into the routine 🤩

Keeping them hydrated now means happierhealthier horses all summer long here’s to a warm weekend have a wonderful one everyone 🌞
