It’s time when the Chinese Lunar New Year rituals take place!
One of the biggest rituals is giving family, friends, and work colleagues a red envelope. By doing so, it is believed to impart good wishes for the year ahead.
Any money placed inside the envelope should be an even amount, not odd. Even money amounts represent yang energy, while odd money amounts represent yin energy.
Red envelopes are commonly available for purchase at novelty stores, and some news agencies or post offices and this time of year.

When it comes to money in 2026, there is good news and not so good news.
Let’s start with the not so good: there is no direct money element in the world’s birth chart this year. This suggests challenging times with money flowing freely.
The good news is there are plenty of resource elements in the chart for the year.
Resources are required to increase your money-making chances. They provide the means and help you get the support needed. They enable progress and success. With an abundance of these elements, your tools are more accessible.
A resource is a support system such as people, information, education, organisation, bank, etc.
If you can tap into the right resources, your money-making endeavours will have more success this year. Use them wisely!

A reminder… Are you red ready for this coming Tuesday?! 💃
New year, new red outfit time! The Chinese Lunar new year is coming! A BIG Chinese tradition is wearing a new red outfit on this day.
Red represents yang energy and is regarded as a powerful symbol of happiness and prosperity. Wearing new is symbolic of embracing new beginnings.

In 2026, money is represented by the Water element. Unfortunately, the Water element is completely missing from the world’s birth chart this year.
This suggests a difficult year for wealth to flow freely. Money can still be made; however, it will require more effort. You will need to be proactive in attaining your financial ambitions.
Wear the colours blue and or black to assist you in your money-making endeavours. These colours represent the Water element in Feng Shui.

Diarise this! There are certain things to NOT do and DO on Chinese New Year Day. Here is your guide…
No to cleaning! Banish the cleaning equipment… no brooms, mops, vacuum cleaner, or other.
No to washing! No doing the laundry and no washing your hair.
No to using sharp objects! This includes anything sharp… knives, scissors, tools, anything with a blade.
No throwing out garbage! Do not put your bin bag in your big garbage bin.
What you should do…
Yes to wearing a new red outfit! Red is the Chinese lucky colour and new signifies new beginnings.
And yes to…. being happy and spreading the happiness!
Catch up with family and friends. Communicate in a loving tone and express positive vibes.

Stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables, fridge and pantry staples, and your rice urn!
To the Chinese, always having a full rice urn symbolises nobody ever going hungry, and they always ensure their rice urn is full before the Chinese Lunar New Year.
It is symbolic of starting the year off with abundance, with the sentiment of ‘the urn is full, so the year will be full’.
This also includes stocking up on other essentials.
