This is so easy to do, and it brings good luck! Have you ever donated clothing or household items to charity?
Giving to charity is seen as a way to invite good fortune in your life – it bestows good luck on you.
When done in the first three months of the Chinese year, which are February, March, and April, it is thought to be especially effective in mitigating bad luck and attracting positive luck for the year ahead.
You can also donate blood or money or do volunteer work.

New year, new red outfit time! The Chinese Lunar new year is coming! A BIG Chinese tradition is wearing a new red outfit on this day.
Red represents yang energy and is regarded as a powerful symbol of happiness and prosperity. Wearing new is symbolic of embracing new beginnings.

The Chinese New Year is approaching! This is a time for happiness, a time for positive energy to be fostered. It’s a time to say loving words, to speak with warmth and kindness, and to share words of encouragement.
While we should adopt this attitude everyday in life, the first three months of the Chinese Year (Feb, Mar, April) are seen as pivotal in energy setting for the remainder of the year.
So… Be happy, speak in a nice tone, and say loving words to each other!

Fertility is not just about having babies! When most people hear the word fertility, they think of having a baby. And yes, this is the case, but in Feng Shui, we also look at fertility in a general sense – meaning to give life to something.
A business, idea, project… something you birth from the start.
Whether you’re after a baby or a business or both, the West section of your home represents fertility. To enhance its qualities, add metal décor to this area, or colours gold, silver and or white.

Remember your 2026 with happiness! Photographs are symbolic too. A photograph carries energy. It captures the essence of the moment. This is highly significant, especially when having family photos or a picture with your partner.
If you’re not smiling or look unhappy in the photo, this is captured. You want the image to represent joy and harmony and to embody positivity.
Feel the happiness of being with loved ones, say cheese and smile!

Just add flowers! If you’re lacking energy or perhaps there has been an illness in the home, display flowers.
Flowers emit wonderful yang energy because they are alive! Their bright and vibrant presence helps uplift your environment and your vitality.
Trim the stems and replace the water daily or at least every few days. Discard them immediately once they have wilted.

Fresh fruit! The East section of your home is an ideal area for placing a bowl of fresh fruit, if conducive to do so.
Why? Because fruit symbolises nourishment and vitality, and the East represents your health and well-being – to live a long and healthy life.

Did you know… a Kumquat tree is excellent to have at your front door?! The word ‘Kumquat’ in Chinese translates to golden orange, and your front door is where all the energy enters your home.
Having a Kumquat tree at your front door symbolically supports your prosperity and good fortune endeavours.

Would you like to start 2026 bringing honour to yourself? This encompasses people respecting you, thinking highly of you, admiring your achievements, recognising your reputation, and so much more!
To aid in honouring your good name, decorate your home’s South section in red and turn on the lights!
This is the area of life that represents fame, reputation and recognition, which can very much be about what you do in your day-to-day life.

We are still shedding now in January! January is the final month of 2025 Snake year.
I feel that the collective energy is exceptionally excited for the upcoming 2026 Year of the Horse, and rightly so, the year is full of promise. But before we get there, don’t underestimate the Snake’s final confronting push to make you release what no longer serves you.
In January we often want movement - new year, let’s make something happen - that type of thing. But this January may not be that moment, it’s still about releasing, which may give a combination of anticipation and anxiety. Emotions may be triggered. Remember to stay grounded with all of your decision making.
When February comes, the way forward should start to become clearer.
I have LOTS of Chinese New Year and 2026 Year of Horse tips coming up soon!

Are you thinking about your 2026 career and business plans? A vision board is a wonderful tool to help you manifest your desires, and placement is key!
When creating your career and business vision board, place whatever you want to achieve on it: starting your own business, a promotion in your current job, a certain salary amount, etc. If you want to work for a particular company, write the name of that company with your name on an employee card.
The best placement is in the North section of your home. If your North is not conducive to placing the board, then place it in the North section of your work/study room or living area.
