Jacinta Tan is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families with psychological or psychiatric disorders in both community-based and public health settings in Australia and Singapore. She has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams of medical and allied health professionals. Her career began at the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), working with individuals diagnosed with Intellectual Disability and mental health or neurodevelopmental disorders. She then joined the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) as part of the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service (ANDS), the first service in Singapore for adults with Intellectual Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. In Australia, Jacinta gained further experience working with trauma victims at Fiona Stanley Hospital, voice hearers at Perth Voices Clinic, and children and adolescents facing relational trauma from the Department of Child Protection. Jacinta adopts a non-judgmental, empathetic approach, providing a safe space for clients to explore their challenges. She specializes in attachment issues, interpersonal difficulties, and emotional regulation, often seen in mood, anxiety, and personality disorders. Her individualized therapy integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Attachment-based approaches. Additionally, she is a registered Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) facilitator, advocating for strong parent-child relationships.
