🎨This exquisite painting by Gustav Klimt from 1905 is a familiar image gracing walls and greeting cards alike. It is the epitome of the ‘ideal female’- calm, maternal & youthful.
🎨Hera’s amazing Dr Hannah discovered that this painting is actually titled ‘The Three Ages of Woman,’ and so went searching for the THIRD woman (you can see a little of her hair in the left of the painting).
🖼️ Swipe to see the painting in its entirety, and you can see that the older (post menopausal) woman, devoid of hormones, kyphotic and depressed has been completely left out of the picture!!!
🎨We pondered over the fact that society has only revered women in their reproductive years and beyond that she had little use.
🎨Now, we spend 30+ years post menopause and with the right education and support (and hormones) women FLOURISH becoming strong, wise, and self assured. This is often their BEST chapter! 🌟
(We wondered what he may have painted should he have added the ‘Perimenopausal woman’ but probably Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’ captures it perfectly !!) 😱
