All last year I popped these little moments of time on my stories and barely posted at all.

I kept feeling my images were too basic, my content was so rusty and it didn’t fit perfectly on my grid.

This year I’m going to surrender to all the fear around showing up and see where this leads.

Oats themselves don’t naturally contain gluten but… they’re often processed in the same factories as wheat, rye, or barley. This means they can easily become contaminated with gluten, making them unsafe for those with coeliac disease.

It’s absolutely no secret that I LOVE chocolate!! It is my comfort food, my warm hug, my therapy, my smile from the inside out β˜ΊοΈβ€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹

For years I would quite happily devour a whole block of Cadburys dairy milk chocolate in one sitting, in the days leading into my bleed 🩸 It was my ritual, and I always told myself I deserved it, as being an 80/20 kinda gal, this was my 20! I ate so well 80% of the time, so why should I feel guilty about this deliciousness entering my body once a month​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
I then went on a personal journey and deep dive into how sugar affects the body​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
How your taste buds adjust to the more sugar you eat, therefore naturally sweet foods like fruit or yoghurt, start to taste bland, and you desire more sugar to satisfy the craving 🍏 ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
How my chronic period pain and psoriasis were being triggered and flared by this high sugar hit, as sugar increases the release of pro- inflammatory cytokines, intensifying pain and swelling ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
How the excess sugar I was consuming was feeding harmful gut bacteria and yeast, contributing to the ongoing recurrence of my candida symptoms 🦠 ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
So nowadays it’s dark chocolate for me, and instead of consuming a whole block, it’s a square or two, a couple of times per week, and my deliciously rich morning cacao with no added sugar 🍫 ​​​​​​​​

This ritual has decreased my muscle and period cramping, gives me a sense of calm and clarity and feeds my gut with good bacteria ​​​​​​​​

Sometimes life just happens, and you’re so immersed in the happening of it, that nothing else seems to matter.

What an honour to take home silver in the Food and Beverage Category at this years National awards, held in Melbourne.

Food Remedy is a vision that continues to evolve through my dreams and the grandest of opportunities which continue to drift my way, at the most divine timing.

Birthing Food Remedy was through letting go of my past maiden self, and aligning more with the mother who wished to create a business where I could share my message, nourish women’s bodies and simultaneously mentor to my children that business isn’t linear, and it doesn’t have to fit in a box.

So many women I work with have lost the joy of eating. It’s become a cycle of overthinking, restriction, and guilt.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

We all know how amazing we feel when we actively listen to our body and consciously eat foods

It’s not about reward, guilt or shame for eating the β€œright” or β€œwrong” foods, it’s about choosing to feel better by bringing awareness to what we put in our body, and what we choose not to

Fear of food is a real concern I see in clinic, where so many are eliminating major food groups to:

πŸ₯¦ Feel less bloated
πŸ₯¦ Feel less full
πŸ₯¦ Make β€œhealthy” choices
πŸ₯¦ Get more things done in their day
πŸ₯¦ Follow fad diet cultures
πŸ₯¦ Avoid foods which have been demonised

The truth is we just need to focus on adding more of the real foods which we know are grown from this earth, in their least processed form

Whole foods including whole grains, legumes, lean meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, dairy, nuts, seeds and monounsaturated oils

All of the food we eat has a threshold where our body is happy, and when it is not. We can feel what this threshold looks like for us, and when we may have tipped the balance too far with certain foods
