Last week, Monash IVF was featured on 7 News for work happening behind the scenes, a new IVF patch being developed that could make parts of fertility treatment less invasive for patients.

Innovations like this don’t happen overnight. They come from years of research, collaboration, and teams asking how treatment could be made simpler and more accessible.

It’s encouraging to see progress like this being recognised publicly, especially when the goal is improving the experience for people going through IVF.

What part of IVF do you wish was easier?

International Women’s Day is a reminder that good healthcare starts with listening.

Too many women are told their symptoms are normal. Or that they should simply wait. Informed care means asking questions, getting clear answers, and making decisions based on evidence.

Healthcare works best when women feel heard.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🤍

You can eat well. Train hard. Feel healthy.

And still have s***m results that need attention.

Male fertility isn’t measured by gym sessions or good intentions. It’s measured in motility, morphology, and concentration.

Have you ever actually looked at the numbers?

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.

It’s a reminder that some conditions don’t show up clearly on scans, and don’t always get recognised early. Endometriosis often sits in that space. Persistent pain explained away. Symptoms minimised. Years between first concern and diagnosis.

Awareness starts with taking pain seriously, even when it isn’t visible.

Have you ever been unsure whether your symptoms were worth raising?

Some skincare and acne medications are not compatible with pregnancy planning because of how they affect early embryonic development.

The concern is highest in the first few weeks, often before a pregnancy is confirmed.

If you’re actively trying, this is the stage where medication reviews matter. A quick check now can prevent avoidable complications later.

If you’re unsure about something you’re using, write it down and bring it to your next consult so we can go through it together.

GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro are becoming more common for weight management, so it’s a fair question to ask when trying to conceive.

Current evidence hasn’t shown concerns when the male partner is using it, as he isn’t carrying the pregnancy. The main caution around these medications relates to use during pregnancy itself.

If you’re unsure how a medication fits into your fertility plan, it’s worth asking before assuming!

Treatment decisions aren’t based on age alone or diagnosis alone. They’re built around how those factors intersect in your situation.

Two people can walk into a clinic with the same goal and leave with completely different plans, and both can be appropriate.

If you’re weighing next steps, a tailored plan makes more sense than copying someone else’s pathway.

Infertility doesn’t just sit in the background of your life. It can take up space mentally, emotionally, and physically. The intensity of what you’re feeling isn’t weakness. It’s a human response to prolonged uncertainty and loss of control.

Support shouldn’t be an afterthought. The right kind, grounded in research and delivered safely, can make the process more sustainable. Not everything offered in this space is evidence-based, so it’s worth choosing carefully.

If this stage feels heavier than you expected, that’s something we take seriously.
