GOVERNMENT UPDATES
OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION FROM MINISTER GREG HUNT
ESSA has received confirmation from Allied Health Professions Australia following their communications with Minister Hunt this morning. In light of some states shutting down ‘non-essential services’, the Minister has confirmed that ALL allied health businesses nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do so. The Minister has also indicated that the Department of Health is now developing full allied health telehealth options, along with other health and medical services, within the week. This will be part of a staged plan and he encourages providers to continue vital face-to-face services where possible. However, ESSA reminds Members that commercial gyms are now closed until further notice. Members must adhere to the government’s guidance on social distancing and hygiene practice.
Implications of social distancing: The Australian Government has introduced further social distancing measures for inside gatherings. In addition to the individual social distancing (ESSA recommends the full 2m apart for in-person exercise services), inside environments need to have at least four square metres available for every person in the area. ESSA urges all exercise professionals to apply these measures to in-person exercise services such as group exercise classes.
Dear Our Valued Clients
We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support in the last few years. We love what we do and endeavour to do our best for you.
We understand that the present situation of COVID-19 brings uncertainty, and fear. However, your health and safety is our priority. As we are classed as an ALLIED HEALTH facility, we are able to remain open at this stage, until the Government implements further restrictions.
With this in mind and to reduce the risk to our staff and you as our client we are implementing the following changes:
1. Cleaning schedule
Please note that while we have increased our cleaning schedule, ie the equipment is being cleaned after every group session or clients have been in. However, it is your responsibility to remember that you NEED to bring a towel to train, we will need to implement a NO TOWEL NO TRAIN policy.
2. DO NOT COME TO THE GYM IF YOU FEEL ILL
if you have a cough or a sniffle just simply do not attend the gym at all.
3. If you or someone living with you has travelled in the last 14 days, you will be asked to stay away from the gym for a minimum of 2 weeks as per the new mandatory quarantine regulations. Anyone in quarantine/isolation will be eligible for our online training – we will ensure you can continue training at home and give you full support.
4. Alternate business hours;
