Today, I’m thinking of the many families who walk the daily journey of Type 1 Diabetes.

One of our grandsons was diagnosed just over a year ago when 4YO, and now lives with T1D. While it brings routines, needles, and careful monitoring, it doesn’t take away his spark.

We're all thankful for the blessing of modern medical technology. It doesn't take away the angst and challenges, but does make them more manageable.

He still runs, laughs, learns, explores, and dreams big. Life doesn’t stop for kids with diabetes — it simply reshapes itself, with courage at the centre.

On this World Diabetes Day, let’s raise awareness, extend kindness, and stand with every patient and every family navigating this condition. Their strength is remarkable, and their resilience reminds us of what hope looks like in motion.

Life goes on. And it can still be full, joyful, and bright.
