๐ Padel is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash, typically played in doubles on an enclosed court smaller than a tennis court. The padel ball is very similar to a tennis ball but slightly less pressurised. This makes it bounce a bit lower and slower than a standard tennis ball, which suits the smaller court and the fast-paced, reaction-based nature of the game.
Because padel involves quick changes of direction, rapid acceleration/deceleration, and hitting overhead or lateral shots, certain injuries are more frequent but prevention is key.
