✨ OT find of the week! ✨

I found this super cute threading game at and of course had to test it out with a kiddo working on fine-motor goals 🧵🧠
Safe to say… he LOVED it! 💛

The game comes with copying cards, but this little legend decided to ditch the cards and get creative 🎨 — he made his own little man! 🧍‍♂️✨

💡 Skills you can target with this one game:
🎨 Creativity – Toss the cards aside and let imaginations run wild
🧠 Planning – Amazing for 3D planning and problem-solving
✋ Fine-motor coordination – Small board + tiny buttons = big skill work
🎯 Concentration – Careful threading through the correct holes (and sides!)
🔺 Shapes – Learn shapes and how smaller shapes combine into bigger ones
👀 Copying – Great for visual-spatial and position-in-space skills
🗣️ Following instructions – Verbal directions really challenge listening + planning

Diving into a world of color with wet chalk! 🌈✨

Do you have a tactile seeking kiddo at home? Finger painting is a great activity to fill those tactile seeking tanks and you get a great piece of artwork out of it! 😁

Re-using baby toys with big kids!

Do you have lots of baby toys lying around now that your kids are older? They can still use them! 😀

We used this Melissa & Doug shape stacker to strengthen this little man’s arm and shoulder muscles, integrate his ATNR reflex and work on his midline crossing. 💪

Simply have your child stand on their hands and knees and use their opposite hand to reach for the shapes to place on the stacker.

Extra: You can even adapt this game to work on their auditory memory by telling them how many of which shapes to pick up, or in what order to place different shapes on the stacker. 🎈

Easy (and cheap) sensory play!

I bought this Sandbox Shell at Westpack for R140 and 3 bags of sand for R160. That’s a total of R300 for hours of sensory play! So cool! I also bought each of my boys these Beach Buckets with 12 toys inside for only R32 each.

As they get older, I will hide smaller items in the sand for them to find and even use it for drawing / writing practice. The possibilities are endless!
