These 8 systems plays a huge role in how children learn, move and interact with the world around them.

An Occupational Therapists can assess and help your child to understand their unique sensory preferences. When sensory processing works well a child can learn and engage in daily activities and do the things that are important to them.

PDA Perth WA conference was held for the first time in Perth Australia on November 11th, 2025 and we were proud sponsors of the event.

Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is an extremely misunderstood condition that needs to be discussed, researched and recognised, in order for therapists, educators and community as a whole, to help support our PDA children, adults and their families to feel seen, supported and safe in their homes and in the community.

Our team was inspired by the amazing speakers whom attending the PD. Sharing their research and lived experience with PDA themselves, or as parents of PDAerโ€™s.

Demands for PDAerโ€™s are a CANโ€™T not a WONโ€™T.

A safe environment is the most important thing that we can provide for our children.

Why RCOT?

I have been a paediatric occupational therapist since 2013, starting my career in a sensory integration based clinic, moving into full-time therapeutic caring for children in care of the Department of Child Protection, and the last couple of years, I have worked more specifically with people with autism (mainly with children), in a community based setting.

I enjoy working with clients, families and schools to ensure the best possible outcomes for therapy. Providing the necessary skills and support for key contacts in a childโ€™s life, will ensure that therapy goals can continue to be addressed outside of therapy hours, and significantly strengthen the outcomes a child experiences.

Prior to occupational therapy, I was an accredited exercise physiologist. This experience continues to support my knowledge in motor movements, exercise and gross motor interventions, and how these interventions assist in development and maturity.
