What a week! 😅

Last week we were lucky to welcome the incredible Nikki Cousins from Action Occupational Therapy to Perth to work with our OTSG team ☺️

From leadership and supervision to sharpening our cognitive assessment processes, Nikki challenged, stretched and energised our clinicians - and the conversations in the room were next level!

Lots of learning and insights. Lots of reflection. Plenty of laughs! 🥳

Thank you Nikki for your generosity, your expertise and the way you continue to raise the bar for our profession! 🤗🙏

December dump 📸

There was a whole lot packed into the final month of 2025… so here’s a December dump before we log off for the year!

What a month - and what a year. As the team heads off on a well deserved break, we just want to say thank you:

🙏 to our community for your ongoing support
🙏 and to our incredible team for everything you’ve given this year

We’ll be back from the 5th January, with some exciting plans already in motion for 2026!

We couldn’t be prouder of this incredible achievement 🥇🥇🥉

After competing at the Special Olympics Western Australia, Lauren came home with an amazing two gold medals and a bronze medal in netball - and has this week been selected for the WA State Team to compete at the National Special Olympics! 💪🙌

This is such a huge milestone and a testament to her dedication, teamwork, and hard work both on and off the court. Alanna and Izzy have been working with Lauren for the past few years - and we’re so excited to see what comes next - the OTSG team will be cheering you on every step of the way!

A huge thank you to our Edith Cowan University (ECU) 3rd year OT students - Lucas, Kaitlin, Kiona & Scott - for their fantastic contributions while on placement with us the past 6 weeks! The team has absolutely loved having you all at OTSG, and you will truly be missed as part of our work family! 🙏🤗

These superstars wrapped up placement presenting their project to the wider OTSG team, showcasing a driver preparedness group that they developed while on placement! 🚗👏

A big thank you as well to our amazing supervisors - Marilyn, Tash, Ruth & Mikayla - and to Alex who coordinated - and the rest of our team (shout out Libby & Rianne) who have supported and guided the students throughout their placement 🙌

We’re proud to continue supporting the next generation of occupational therapists in 2026!

We're proud to share that our very own - Chris Pearce has been elected to the Board of Directors of Occupational Therapy Australia.

This appointment reflects Chris’ long-standing contribution to the profession and association - spanning across clinical innovation, workforce development, community engagement and advocacy. As a leader who champions inclusion, lived experience and person-centred service design, Chris brings a strong and values-driven voice to the national table.

His election is also a wonderful recognition of the broader OTSG community - our team, students, partners, and the people we support every day - who continue to shape our understanding of what best practice occupational therapy looks like into the future.

We look forward to seeing Chris and the OTA Board guide the future strategic direction of our profession.

OTA is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Board of Directors, confirmed at the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 20 November.

Key Updates:
• Joanna Murray and Carol McKinstry have been reappointed to the Board
• We welcome new Board Member, Christopher Pearce, and WFOT First Alternate Delegate, Kim Walder
• We extend our sincere thanks to departing members Alice Fung and Michelle Bissett for their valuable contributions.
