Neuroexhaustion; (noun):
A profound and multifaceted fatigue experienced by parents of children with neurodiverse challenges.
This exhaustion manifests physically, mentally, and emotionally, akin to a tight squeeze in the brain and a heavy ache in the heart.
It embodies an intricate blend of grief, hope, relentless effort and negotiation, all intertwined with an unwavering ribbon of love.
Neuroexhaustion evokes tears of both pride and sorrow, compelling parents to advocate fiercely while often feeling vulnerable and worn down.
These parents feel a tiredness that resides in the heart and every inch of their being from the jungle inside their lives and the jungle of the community with a sea of judgement that adds a brick like cherry on top.
The biochemical and hormone response in the body can be and deserves support yet is a mere comment in all advocates connections with their child’s health providers.
If I had my way the first step in all children’s care with neurodiversity would be engulfing the primary carer with a care plan and support group.
Ensure the cortisol and adrenaline spikes are being neutralised and the core Nutrition required for the are prioritised.
