First and foremost, a big thank you to all the walkers and supporters on this journey. We had Costa llic from Dignus Athletica, who accompanied me throughout the walk on foot. Toni Negrieski provided food, drinks, and his wise words. Ryan Reeve and Jordan Damer supported us from a vehicle.
The walk only took 9 hours and 52 minutes, despite the predicted 15 hours and 42 minutes that Google suggested, it was achieved at a brisk pace. We also received multiple visits from supporters of the cause, including the Ruggiero Foundation, (Steve, Michelle, and Amanda).
The day went smoothly, starting with a light mist of rain that eventually turned into a beautiful sunny day. We finished at the Alkimos lookout a pretty oversight that allowed us to cast our gaze back to Scarborough Beach and truly appreciate how far we had walked.
The fundraising results exceeded our expectations, especially considering this was our first event of this kind. A massive round of applause to everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe page, your donations were greatly appreciated by MSWA. Personally, I want to thank Trish Watson from MSWA for meeting us at the start line at 3:45 am.
We intend to continue raising awareness within the community and look forward to our next fundraising event in 2026.
