Zenith Way, Orion Industrial Park | Civil Works

Soak wells are currently being installed as part of the stormwater management system at our Zenith Way project.

This critical underground infrastructure ensures the site meets engineering and drainage requirements, supporting long-term performance of the development.

It’s Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day — a gentle reminder to focus on solutions, not the mess. That said… construction does come with a few “pet peeves” that test our emotional maturity daily. Here’s what drives the Built Ink crew slightly unwell on-site 👇

Quick reminder (because we’ve all lived this): if everyone isn’t working off the same drawing revision, the job turns into a group project where no one has the right instructions. Keeping comms clean and documents current isn’t “admin” — it’s how you protect time, money, and everyone’s sanity on site. A gentle reminder to all our sub-contractors to check they have the latest set of plans with their Site Supervisor.

With the Winter Olympics kicking off in February, we figured it was only fair to ask: If Built Ink hosted an Olympic event… what would it be? Our nominations include: 🏃‍♂️ the program sprint 🛠️ the toolbox talk hurdles 🛞 and a highly competitive wheelbarrow discipline (training has clearly started) 😅 Part of our Built Ink People series — nothing to sell, just sharing the crew behind the builds.

Muchea | Structural Steel Awnings Installed

Steel awnings are now being erected at our Muchea project, adding both functionality and architectural definition to the building.

These awnings will protect loading and operational areas while enhancing the overall profile of the facility. Another important step forward as the project continues to take shape on site.

Happy Fun at Work Day! Same Built Ink standards… just with extra laughs and a few “creative edits” thrown in. P.S. Everyone still has a job. Probably. 😅

2026 industrial snapshot:

• demand slowly improving as rates ease
• speculative supply cooling off
• tight markets (like Perth) staying tight
• more focus on how well a building works, not just how big it is

Our plan isn’t to be everywhere. It’s to stay deep in WA industrial and keep doing the unglamorous bits well:

✅ smarter layouts
✅ realistic timeframes
✅ buildings that can adapt as businesses grow

That’s how we want to show up as “the experts” this year – by doing the basics brilliantly.

2025 in construction was a mix of pressure + optimism.

✔ labour and supply still tight
✔ lots of small contractors carrying a big workload
✔ costs not falling off a cliff
✔ industry confidence still in positive territory

So no, it’s not the easiest time to deliver an industrial project. But yes, good projects are still getting done – when they’re well-planned and well-coordinated from day one.

Make Your Dreams Come True Day (13 Jan) has us feeling inspirational… so we asked the Built Ink crew what their dream gig would be if they weren’t on site.
Results: chaotic, confident, and somehow still very “Built Ink”. 😂

Kicking off a fun little video series — not here to sell you anything, just sharing the humans behind the builds.

Perth didn’t follow the east-coast script in 2025.

Compared to Sydney/Melbourne, Perth had:
• lower industrial vacancy (in some precincts, under 1%)
• far less space being sub-let
• some of the strongest land value growth nationally

Translation: WA industrial is still tight, still valuable, and still hard to replace once you’ve got it.

If you’re in Perth, the real question isn’t “can I find something?” It’s “am I using the land and building I’ve got in the smartest way possible?”

2025 was the year Australia’s industrial market came off the sugar high and settled into “normal busy”.

Big picture:
• demand eased for the very large sheds, but sub-10,000 sqm stayed active
• a wave of new east-coast supply pushed vacancy up from record lows
• rents largely held, while incentives did more of the work
• investor interest in industrial remained strong

Rather than a downturn, it’s been a reset: more choice, more measured negotiation, and a return to fundamentals.

Here in Perth, we’re kicking off 2026 with projects moving into gear across the north, south and eastern industrial corridors – with activity in Bassendean, Kelmscott, Wattleup, Cockburn, Muchea and Neerabup already setting the tone for another busy year.
