Your animal’s Base (Root) Chakra is the energetic foundation of their entire system.
When this chakra is balanced, an animal moves through the world with a quiet sense of “I belong here. I am safe.” 🌿
But when it is out of balance, you often see it show up in ways that look like behavioural problems on the surface.
Things like:
• separation anxiety
• clinginess or co-dependence
• resource guarding
• hyper-vigilance
• difficulty settling
• fear of new environments
• difficulty travelling or leaving home
From an energetic perspective, these behaviours are often rooted in insecurity within the Base Chakra.
This chakra governs an animal’s relationship with safety, survival, territory, and belonging. It is deeply connected to early life experiences, particularly in animals who experienced instability during their formative months.
Rescue animals often carry Base Chakra imbalances because their earliest experiences involved uncertainty, abandonment, or a lack of safety. Their nervous system learned very early on that the world was unpredictable.
But here is something important to understand:
Animals do not regulate their nervous systems alone.
They regulate through connection with their environment, and with you.
This is why the Base Chakra is also where the emotional mirror between animals and their humans often begins.
When we restore balance in this chakra, animals often become:
✨ calmer
✨ more confident
✨ more independent
✨ more secure in their attachments
Their body softens because their nervous system finally receives the message:
“You are safe now.”
And when that happens, behaviour begins to change naturally.
