Good morning all my friends and followers
Here is a Sufi story for you.
I often wonder why our emotions come and change so much. Like the weather in Melbourne. Have you? Listen what Rumi says:
The Guest House
A disciple once asked Rumi,
“Master, why do I feel so many emotions—joy one day, heaviness the next, longing the next? Why can’t the heart stay still?”
Rumi replied,
“Because the heart is a guest house. Each morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness… some unexpected visitor.
Welcome them all. Even if they are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty—still, treat each guest honorably.
They may be clearing you out for some new delight.”
Reflection:
Sufis teach that our emotions aren’t mistakes—they are messages. When you stop fighting what arrives in you, the heart becomes a gentler place to live. And you will be happier.
