Different breathwork/pranayama and meditation practices have various functions and applications. This morning I had the pleasure of delivering Bhramari pranayam - the “humming bee breath” which is a tranquilising experience followed by Ajaja Japa which is a focussed attention meditation (great for those of us with scattered minds). 🐝 💛

Meditation and breathwork (here I’m doing Nadi Shodana, sometimes called alternate nostril breathing) can be done anywhere. Right now I’m at Maccas doing some meditation study and over the past few weeks I’ve practiced on an airplane flight, winding down after a hike in the bush, on a beach, and in a few hotel rooms. It’s incredibly grounding. I plan to do some videos and live’s in the coming weeks so if you’re interested in learning some of these simple techniques keep a look out 👀

OMG you guys we made it! To all the parents with kids going back to school this week… cheers! It’s lovely to have time with them at home; the sleepins, the fun outings, the sleepovers and play dates but it’s also nice to get some kind of routine back in place. Maybe I can catch up on work now 🤪

My love of reading started when I was a kid. I’d literally spend days reading, getting lost in other worlds, other lives. It was a way I coped with the tension at home (not that I was aware of it being a coping mechanism at the time). It’s still a coping skill for me, a way of calming my mind and slowing down. Probably one of the more healthier coping mechanisms I developed!
