Trauma: It’s Not Just in the Mind, but in the Body Too
We often think of trauma as something that affects the mind—but it goes deeper than that. Trauma can become physically stored in the body, manifesting as chronic tension, pain, or even illnesses.
Whether it's from a major life event or smaller, accumulated stresses, our bodies hold onto emotional trauma in ways we might not even realise.
Why does this happen? When we experience trauma, our fight-or-flight response kicks in, but when it's not fully processed, that energy can get "stuck" in the body. Over time, it can weigh us down, both physically and emotionally, limiting our full potential.
The good news is that releasing stored trauma is possible—and incredibly empowering. Through practices like mindfulness, breathwork, movement, therapy, and other holistic approaches, we can begin to untangle these deep-rooted tensions.
