The 2026 theme, , encouraged reflection on the importance of creating policies and frameworks where women and girls have equal access, fair treatment, and every opportunity to thrive.

To mark the occasion, our People and Culture team visited Westcare sites last week to share flowers and chocolates with the team. It was a simple yet heartfelt way to show appreciation for the people who make Westcare a welcoming, supportive, and diverse place to be.

Westcare Incorporated is proud to share the news of our permanent partnership with Mosaic Community Care, marking an important step forward for disability support in Western Australia. The agreement strengthens our ability to deliver sustainable, person‑centred services at a time when many providers face increasing pressures.

As part of the partnership, Mosaic will manage our Shenton Park accommodation services, ensuring residents continue to receive safe, high‑quality care. Westcare will continue operating our ADE sites in Nedlands and Bassendean, supporting nearly 150 employees - including 108 supported employees - in secure employment.

This partnership builds on our strong legacy of putting people first. By working together, we can innovate, grow and better support people with disability to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Last Thursday was an exciting day at the Westcare Nedlands office, marked by a special visit from our Joint Patrons, His Excellency Governor Chris Dawson AC APM, and Mrs. Darrilyn Dawson, and other distinguished guests from Government House. The Governor and Mrs Dawson were warmly welcomed by our Board President, Board members, CEO and senior leadership team during a tour of our Nedlands office, where they had the opportunity to meet our dedicated employees over a delightful morning tea.
