If you love your baby but still feel lonely, overwhelmed, or lost… you’re not failing. You’re human.

Motherhood can be beautiful and heavy at the same time.
Both truths can exist side by side, and that’s okay.

You don’t have to do this alone—even when it feels like everyone else has it all together.

You’re Allowed to Feel Touched Out

Loving your baby deeply and feeling touched out can exist at the same time.

If breastfeeding or contact naps feel overwhelming some days—that doesn’t make you ungrateful.
It makes you human.

You deserve rest, space, and support too. 💛

Here are a few gentle ways to give yourself a little space:

• Step outside for 2 minutes of fresh air — no phone, just breathe
• Put on one song that makes your nervous system unclench
• Sit next to your baby instead of holding them (even for a minute)
• Ask for help without explaining or justifying it
• Take a walk with your baby — a little fresh air does wonders for both of you.
• Lower the bar for the rest of the day — survival counts

Remind yourself: this feeling passes 💛

Self-care doesn’t have to be big to matter. Even tiny moments of space count. 💛

It’s the middle of summer here in Perth — and even though it hasn’t been as brutal as usual, we all know those hot days are still coming 😅☀️

So let’s talk hydration and breastfeeding — without the pressure.

Here’s what the research actually says:

✨ You don’t need to force fluids — drinking to thirst is enough for most breastfeeding mums.
✨ Chugging more water doesn’t increase milk supply (yep, that’s a myth).
✨ Be more mindful on really hot days, when exercising, or if you’re sweating more.
✨ Signs you need more fluids: dark urine, constipation, headaches, low energy.
✨ It’s not “only water” — fruit, veggies, soup, milk, tea and smoothies all count too.

Real-life mum tip:
Keep a drink where you feed or pump and take a few sips every time you sit down.
No pressure. No perfection. Just support for your body 💛

Life got full… so I stepped back.

The last year has been a mix of moving house, family life, and supporting my beautiful clients — all while trying to keep some energy for myself too. It’s been busy, emotional, and honestly a lot at times.

Instagram took a back seat, not because I stopped caring, but because I needed to be more present in my real life for a while.

Back to Holding Space for Families Again

It’s been a while since we took a proper break as a family—no schedules, no rushing, no “what’s next.” Just time to explore, eat well, meet kind souls, and be together. And it was incredible.

Sharing the experience with my parents made it even more meaningful. There was something really beautiful about seeing all generations slowing down together.

Now, I’m home—and ready to walk alongside the families I support with a full heart, fresh energy, and deep gratitude.⁠

Motherhood doesn’t come with time off, but taking time away—to rest, to reconnect, to be human—is everything.

🌙 Baby Won’t Sleep? It’s Not You, It’s Biology!

You’ve tried everything. The dark room, the perfect sleep sack, the white noise machine turned up to “ocean storm.” And yet… your baby still wakes up. Again. And again.

You start wondering: Am I doing something wrong?

No, mama. It’s not you. It’s biology.

Babies aren’t designed to sleep like adults. Their tiny stomachs mean they need frequent feeds. Their light sleep helps protect against SIDS. Their instinct to wake and seek comfort? It’s pure survival.

But knowing this doesn’t make the exhaustion easier—so here’s what can help:

💛 Shift your expectations. Your baby isn’t broken. They’re doing exactly what they’re meant to.

💛 Find ways to rest, not fight sleep. Safe co-sleeping (following Safe Sleep Seven), contact naps, or asking for help during the day can make nights less brutal.

💛 Look at sleep holistically. More outdoor time, responsive daytime feeds, and meeting emotional needs all impact night sleep.

You might’ve noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately—but I’m back, and I can’t wait to reconnect! 💛 Life has been full, and like so many mums, I’ve been juggling all the things, from family life to supporting incredible parents like you in my consultations. I’m so excited to be here again, sharing what I love.

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and Holistic Sleep Coach based in Perth, Australia. But first and foremost, I’m a mum who’s been right where you are—exhausted, overwhelmed, and searching for answers.

My journey into this work began with my own struggles. Breastfeeding my daughter was so much harder than I ever expected—nipple shields, tongue-tie, endless doubts. Sleep? Let’s just say I ran on survival mode for two years. 😵‍💫 But those challenges lit a fire in me. I wanted to support other mums in ways I wished I had back then.

Now, through Nurtured Bub, I help families navigate breastfeeding, sleep, and all the ups and downs of early parenting with evidence-based guidance, empathy, and zero judgment. Whether you need help with latch issues, night wakings, or just reassurance that you’re doing an amazing job (because you are), I’ve got you. 💛
