(*WARNING - long post ahead. May I suggest you read so we don’t cause offence, …..and I’d get the tissues.)
🤩 DALE 🤩
For those of you that have been following at home, say for the past 15 years or so, you would be fairly familiar with this legend.
For those of you that don’t, allow me to introduce you.
Her name is Dale, but I get to call her Mum.
I have openly shared Mum’s battles with cancer over the years - Very early on my journey with cranes, my mum was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, it had spread through her Lymph nodes and she had shadows in her major organs. She had a tough road with surgeries and SO MUCH CHEMO and we thought on a few occasions she may not make it. But miraculously, she did.
Then it came back.
I gave her my 1000 cranes I folded as a child and told her to make a wish - and she kicked it in the butt again.
She had a bit a relief for a while, then a few years back, another early diagnosis helped it bu**er off again.
Incredible!
After numerous surgeries, years of treatments and a couple of reconstructions, you’d think we had won the war.
But this bastard disease has got her again.
And as positive as we will always be, this one’s a doozy. And it’s gonna need a bit more ammunition to get it to bu**er off this time.
I’ve been a bit absent on here since Europe - and i hope this helps to explains why.
I went down south to see Mum today. She has had her surgery and now we wait. Another round of chemo (and another selection of awesome wigs - I’m thinking a mullet or mohawk this time Dale - maybe with a bit if colour? 😜)
Mum is the toughest nut I know. Almost superhuman. I have no doubt she’ll give it all that she has - and we’ll be here to cheer her along.
Being the best Mum always, She wasn’t sure about the ‘rude’ finger picture. But I convinced her.
Because….. F # YOU CANCER!
And she was on board with that 😜❤️
You got this Dale. 😘
