Happy IWD - Autoimmunity & Community

Happy International Women's Day! When I think about equality for women, one of the first issues that comes to my mind is autoimmune disorders.

That includes celiac disease, endometriosis,
psoriasis, fibromyalgia...
and women are hugely over-represented in this area.

Nauropathy has a unique capability to deal with autoimmunity.

Conventional medicine pretty much only has the option of shutting down immunity altogether, whereas in naturopathy, we look at immune modulation.

So - calming the immune system down, getting on top of inflammation in holistic ways
and also looking at the underlying issues,
which can be related to hormonal imbalance,
stress, heavy metals, methylation...

And that would be my wish for women - is to have a better quality of life in terms of their energy, their vitality.

Because women do so much for all the people in their lives, the little people, and the big people, and their communities.

And that's what I'm trying to do. That's part of my passion for naturopathy is just doing my little bit in my little community and knowing that the domino ripple effect out to the community at large is going to be benefiting more people, its going to mean happier families.

To balance out the buzz I've been
* taking my perimeno / nervous system / adrenal supps,
* ordering some meals,
* doing workouts that suit my mood,
* sunbaking when I can,
* perving on trees,
* moon & stargazing,
* sticking to my bedtime routine,
* thanking god for reiki and...
* loving my #1 guy.

Unofficial laughter therapy completed!
We started out almost 15 years ago as a Book Club...now we are more of an Oversharing Club. Always so amazing when all nine of us can get together. The trust and connection just fills our souls. HAPPY 50th RENÉ!

I was not expecting the Bodyworlds exhibit to have such an incredible focus on mental health, wellbeing and longevity.

A whole model on the autonomic nervous system aka rest & digest vs fight or flight - so central to modern naturopathic care.

Sections on the benefits of food, dance, laughter, connection & purpose.

The most unique aspect for me was the plasticised blood vessel network of the head and brain. A brilliant representation of the importance of simple flow, nourishment and oxygenation for mental wellbeing.
