Have lateral hip pain and a CSI didn't help?
Chances are you have gluteal tendinopathy! This means the tendons on the side of the hip are unhappy and don't tolerate load/activity as well 😒

The latest research from Alison Grimaldi et al., 2025 says that if the first test (shown in the picture) is positive PLUS the third test in the picture (resisted abduction in sidelying) then the diagnostic accuracy increases (Kinsella et al.,2024)👍🏼

The good news is that specific modification of activity and the commencement of certain exercises can be helpful in resolving the condition💪🏼

Brett and Clare were lucky enough to attend a professional development session focused on the throwing and overhead athlete. Some excellent insight into what is needed to get back to full function. Some pretty cool rehab exercise ideas as well! Bring on the rugby/football/basketball/volleyball/netball season

Brett is one of the superstar physios here at In Clinic.
A few things about Brett:
⭐ He has over 10 years experience in Private Practice
⭐ He has a Master's in Sports Physio
⭐ He is the Head Physio of the Fremantle Dockers AFLW team
⭐ He enjoys treating most injuries but specialises in ACL rehab
⭐ He recently decided he will do the run leg of the next Half IronMan

Brett is in the clinic Mondays, Thursdays and some Saturdays for all your physio needs!
