👋 Hi everyone!

I’m Shahn, one of the friendly Speech Pathologists at So to Speak, and a big believer that communication opens the door to confidence 💬✨

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology, throughout my career I’ve also worked as a support worker and swim instructor, supporting children of all ages and abilities. Safe to say, helping little people grow, learn and reach their goals has always been close to my heart.

I love problem-solving alongside children and finding creative, individualised ways to build their communication skills. Whether we’re working on speech sounds, language, social skills or confidence, there’s nothing better than seeing a child realise, “I can do this!” 💛 Watching their independence grow and seeing that pride on their faces (and their families’ too!) is the most rewarding part of what I do.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me outside soaking up the sunshine, swimming at the beach, reading a good book, or spending quality time with my family and friends 🌊📚✨

Let’s give Shahn a very warm So to Speak welcome 💛

I’m officially an Aussie! 🇦🇺

Feeling incredibly grateful to have received my Australian citizenship today alongside my two beautiful daughters. A moment filled with pride, love, and a deep sense of belonging, one we’ll cherish forever. 💛

So thankful for this journey, the opportunities ahead, and our beautiful community.

📦✨ Speechie unboxing = instant serotonin boost! ✨📦

There’s nothing better than opening a .aus delivery and knowing how many little language goals are about to be supported 💛

Here’s what we added to our therapy toolkit:

🍦 Scoop & Stack – amazing for working on colours, counting, requesting, following multi-step directions and expanding sentences (e.g. “I want the big pink scoop on top”).

🍩 Donut Dilemma – perfect for problem-solving, flexible thinking, describing, inferencing and answering WH-questions… all wrapped up in a fun, engaging game.

🍔 Balancing Language Burger – a hands-on way to target sentence structure, grammar, sequencing and building longer, more detailed phrases.

Therapy might look like we’re “just playing”… but every scoop, stack and sprinkle has a purpose 😉💛
We can’t wait to get these into sessions and see our little learners thrive!

Which one would your child love most? 👇✨

Valentine’s Day is a beautiful reminder that love, kindness and friendship are built through connection 💕

For children, learning how to express emotions, build friendships and understand others doesn’t always come naturally. These are skills that grow through support, modelling and everyday experiences.

At So to Speak, we’re passionate about helping children develop the communication skills they need to express themselves, build meaningful relationships and feel confident connecting with the world around them.

Every child deserves to feel heard, understood and included 💛

If you’ve ever wondered whether your child may benefit from support with their communication, language or social skills, we’re always here to help. Send us a DM or visit our website to learn more about how we can support your child’s journey.

With lots of new faces joining us, it’s time to start introducing the beautiful humans behind So to Speak 💛

👋 Hi everyone!

I’m Daniélle — your friendly Occupational Therapist, and a huge believer in learning through play 🧩✨

I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Teaching) and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, and I’ve spent my career working with young children in many roles, including Kindergarten Teacher, Daycare & Pre-Kindy Teacher, OSHC Educator & Coordinator, Therapy Assistant, Abacus Mathematics Instructor and Whole Brain Development Coach. Safe to say, supporting little people has always been my passion.

I love problem-solving with children, trying new strategies, and finding creative ways to build on their strengths while supporting the areas they find tricky. Watching children engage, grow in confidence, and become more independent is incredibly rewarding, especially when families and schools start noticing those amazing changes too (best feeling ever! 💛✨).

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me checking out cute cafés, heading to the beach, staying active, or trying something new like paint classes, stained glass workshops or dance classes 🎨💃🌊

Fun fact: I’ve been a lifelong fan of Batman and superheroes, and my favourite animal is a bat 🦇🖤

We’re so excited to have Daniélle on the So to Speak team and can’t wait for you to meet her in the clinic soon!

Let's give her a very warm So to Speak welcome 💛

Jumping on the bandwagon 🤭

I asked AI to turn me (and my job!) into a caricature — and honestly… I’m not saying it captured everything… but it definitely captured some of the chaos 😂

If you want to play along, use this prompt:👇“Create a caracature of me and my job based on what you know about me”

Then share yours below in the comments — I NEED to see these!Let’s have some fun 💛

Also tagging — because apparently it helps me run my entire life (and clinic)… its even made this picture… so thought I’d give it the credit 😅

This time last year, team meetings looked very different… it was just me sitting at the table (from home)🤍

This week we had our first full team meeting together in clinic, and I honestly couldn’t be prouder. Watching this team grow — and seeing the passion, kindness and skill around that table — is something really special.

Official introductions coming soon… stay tuned ✨

P.S. Please excuse the walls 😅 Renovations are underway behind the scenes while we keep doing what we love 🤍.

Happy Birthday, to our favourite red puppet, Elmo!

At So to Speak, Elmo (and Sesame Street) get a big thumbs up from us 👍❤️ and not just because they’re cute and loveable!

Sesame Street is thoughtfully designed to support children’s learning and development by:

🗣️ Modelling clear, simple language
😊 Teaching emotions, empathy and social skills
🎶 Using repetition, songs and routines to support understanding
🧠 Supporting attention, problem-solving and early literacy
🌈 Representing diversity, inclusion and big feelings in a child-friendly way

Characters like Elmo help children feel seen, understood and safe, which is so important for learning and communication 💛

When used mindfully and alongside real-world play and interaction, shows like Sesame Street can be a wonderful support for early language and social development.

Happy birthday to everyone’s favourite red monster — keep helping kids learn, grow and giggle 🎂✨
