Jaw clicking is much more common than most people think.

Research shows that around 30–50% of the population experience jaw joint sounds, even when they have no pain at all.

In many cases the click simply occurs when a small cartilage disc inside the jaw joint moves slightly and then slips back into place as the mouth opens.

This movement can create a sound, but it does not necessarily mean the joint is damaged.

In fact, many people have clicking for years without any symptoms.

What matters much more is how the muscles and nervous system behave around the joint.

In persistent TMJ pain we often see:
• muscle guarding around the jaw
• altered movement patterns
• increased nervous system sensitivity
• stress load on the system

That is why modern TMJ management focuses less on “fixing the click” and more on calming the system, reducing guarding, and restoring comfortable movement.

If your jaw clicks but is not painful, it is usually not something to worry about.

Understanding how the system works is the first step to taking control of it.

When I had my first professional shoot I ended up with such a tight neck after as it really stressed me out. This time I surrendered and learns that trust feels not only good jn the heart, but also in the body. No right neck this time! The only thing that changed was my internal dialog.

Pain & tension are messages from your body. What’s yours telling you??

Thank you to Mark and Portia from Film Nostalgic - you guys make this always fun!!

We are now available in the wheatbelt! 🩵🧡

Jaw clenching. Headaches. Neck tension.

This is exactly what I’ve experienced over the past two years since my health issue’s began. I’ve searched high and low for relief, and finally found this device so helpful. So helpful that I’m now stocking it at Rhiform!

The Pocket Physio uses targeted vibration to send calming signals to the brain, helping muscles let go without force. Vibration can calm the nervous system and reduce muscle guarding. I’ve noticed my tension soften and pain ease around my sensitive jaw and neck.

The physiotherapist-designed device works with your nervous system not against it. No aggressive pressure. No digging into sore spots. Just gentle input that helps reduce protective muscle tension.

Available now at Rhiform 🤍

Ever been to the dentist and walked out with jaw stiffness, tightness, or difficulty opening your mouth for days after?

Most people assume it’s just “part of the process.”
But progressive dentists are starting to ask better questions:
• How do we reduce protective muscle guarding after long procedures?
• How do we support faster, more comfortable recovery?
• How do we make treatment safer for the nervous system — not just the teeth?

I had exactly these conversations this week with progressive implant clinicians in South Perth Creating a beautiful smile and genuine care for patient comfort and wellbeing.

This is the future of care.
