Fertility North is a fertility and endometriosis clinic located at Joondalup Health Campus in Western Australia. Our experienced team of specialists, embryologists, nurses, counsellors, and support staff provide personalised, patient-centred care across all aspects of fertility and gynaecology. We offer a full range of services, including fertility assessments, IVF and assisted reproductive technologies (ART), endometriosis management, and specialist gynaecological care. Through our regional clinic, FGS in Albany, we also provide care to patients across regional Western Australia.

AMH is a useful tool for understanding ovarian reserve, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. A high AMH indicates more eggs, while a low AMH indicates fewer, but it doesn’t measure egg quality, which is largely influenced by age, nor does it indicate whether pregnancy can occur naturally or with fertility treatment.

It’s important to understand what the AMH blood test can and cannot show. AMH is a key tool among other fertility tests, helping your doctor assess ovarian reserve and plan the most appropriate approach for your treatment.

New success rates data was released in December, and we’re sharing a snapshot of Fertility North's latest results. These figures show births per completed egg retrieval cycle, including both fresh and frozen embryo transfers, for egg retrievals in 2022 with transfers in 2022–2023.

💙Births per complete egg retrieval for patients having their first ever egg retrieval:
Under 35 years:
◽️Fertility North: 69%
◽️National average: 52%

35-42 years:
◽️Fertility North: 38%
◽️National average: 31%

💙Births per complete egg retrieval for patients aged under 35:
◽️Fertility North: 56%
◽️National average: 46%

Success rates vary between individuals and are influenced by factors such as age, weight and cause of infertility. Not every treatment cycle will result in an egg collection, embryo transfer or embryo cryopreservation, and individual outcomes will differ.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. In November 2025, the Australian Government announced that Australia is on track to eliminate cervical cancer by 2035. Achieving this goal relies on continued HPV vaccination for young people and staying up to date with regular cervical screening. If you’re planning to start fertility treatment, it’s a good time to check that your cervical screening is current as part of your fertility checks.
