I spoke about this at the Homebirth Conference in Adelaide. The system was set up deliberately to control how women birth and therefore the people providing support. It hasnt made birth any safer or better. And now the deliberate fearmongering in the news reports is to ensure we are polarised, pitting women against each other. To gain public support for the absolute control of how, where and with who women choose to give birth. Long time coming, but there are those of us who could see this a mile off. Which is why we stepped out of the system of abuse and control.

Women, If you are birthing in the hospital, you should have an advocate in your birth team. Doulas, you need to know how to navigate within the law for your clients. I will be running workshops in 2026 but if you would like one-on-one mentoring then reach out.

There are soo many posts from women and organisations, calling out the misogyny and abuse of power coming from the ACM statement. It is now clear who they align with and where their allegiance lies. Not with midwives or women.

Great post by - the motherhood circle.
We are now here and the agenda is very clear. Like everything else in life, they now want us to have a licence to get a woman water in labour or wipe her sweaty brow. You will need to be trained how to do this safely. Meanwhile trained professionals in hospitals work to standards that are not evidence-based, and hold no accountability for the suffering they cause. go figure. 🙄
