Hi all 👋
I’ve been meeting plenty of new people and their horses lately so I wanted to jump on and say hello and reintroduce myself!
I’m Alesha the face behind ALW Equestrian based in Perth, pictured with my main Mare Paris who started me on the path of bodywork.
After having her started under saddle 6 years ago she showed some very aggressive behaviours which I had never experienced in a horse before, she then came up lame and was overall very unhappy hated being touched basically.
After months of vet visits and thousands in bills we still had no answers and I really didn’t know where to go next.
I turned her out for the summer and found myself a good bodyworker who started treating her. We then rehabbed her through groundwork, lunging and polework. After a few months she was back undersaddle and hasn’t been lame a day since, it really opened my eyes to another side of horses. Needless to say this one mare has taught me so much not only as an owner but also a rider. I’ll always be thankful to her for that.
But this was a bit of a turning point for me in my journey with horses which lead me to study Equine sports massage, I then went on to complete my Emmett therapy qualification and attended 2 different horse dissections something I never thought I’d do but they blew my mind!
I’m passionate about helping horses to be strong and happy within their bodies through massage , stretching , rehab/ ground work and fitness and it’s been so rewarding to see how horses can change and develop over time working with them.
Drop a picture of your beloved horse or horses below and say hello 🙌🏻🦄
