Just kidding, I always follow my percentages, Dylan I promise.

Thank you so much to Shannon | Life Coach🌻 and Dylan | Strength Coach and every single person who has been part of my time coaching. It's been an incredible adventure and I wouldn't have done it with any other group of people. You're all amazing and I appreciate you all so much.

For anyone who is looking for top tier strength coaching, head to Panoramic Vitality & Performance . The fact that I'm staying on as a client after stepping back from coaching says a lot about the level of their programming and coaching.

In the meantime, I'm so excited to be able to dedicate myself more to the sports remedial massage space. Big things to come! Here's to the next chapter ❤️🏋‍♀️

Avoid that bad juju. Or at least if its there, blame your whole set on it 🤣

Anyone else have any gym superstitions?

Your knees aren’t the villain. They’re often just the messenger. And just like we don't shoot the Easter bunny, don't shoot the messenger (that was a reach to tie it into Easter stuff, I know).

Pain during jumping, running or even stairs usually isn’t random. It’s often your body compensating for something else:
🥚 Ankles not moving well
🥚 Hips not controlling load
🥚 Not enough single leg strength

This is why quick fixes don’t last and why we look at the whole system.

If you had to guess, which ‘egg’ are you missing? 👇

Inspired by my dad and I ranting at (not even to) each other on the phone today.

Do you need skin on skin contact to get an effective remedial massage treatment? Will you get all the same benefits from treating through clothing?

There is nothing wrong at all with treating skin on skin. Personally, I don't find it necessary with my treatment style.

Curious to know my logic? See more here 🤓

(Ps this song doesnt match the vibes of this post but I just really liked the tune)

Calf pain after running... or is it?

Lynsey came in with what sounded pretty straightforward. Calf pain after a run. Easy enough to treat, right?

But once we dug a little deeper, another piece of the puzzle showed up (dun dun dunnn); post run hip flexor pain.

Now things got interesting!

Because sometimes what hurts isn’t actually the main problem, it’s just the thing that’s been working overtime to pick up the slack.

In Lynsey’s case, her hip flexor was tired and tight. That subtle fatigue was changing how she was running, pushing her more onto her toes and loading up her calf and Achilles more than they were happy with.

So yes, we treated the calf, but we didn’t stop there.

We also:
- Released the hip flexor
- Talked through what was happening in her running pattern
- Linked in with her strength coach to build some targeted hip flexor strength

Because if we only treat the sore spot, we’re often just buying short term relief. If we zoom out and look at the full picture, that’s where longer lasting change happens
And the goal is always to keep you running, not just get you out of pain for a few days!

I mean, Daisy from Below Deck is such a gangster. She's a proper boss woman. I want to be Daisy from Below Deck when I grow up.

This has nothing to do with anything, I just love Below Deck.

Okay, now go do your 3 minutes of couch stretching and tell me what you're watching while you do it.

Remember, if strength or mobility is lacking in a certain area, your body will compensate somewhere else to get the movement done!

What's the deal with those manual lymphatic draining gloves? Do you need them? Or is there a better, free alternative?

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: JEFF

When Jeff first came to see me, he had shoulder pain had been hanging around for months. It was starting to interfere with two big parts of his life: his work as a swim coach and his time out on the cricket pitch.

Coaching meant hours in and out of the pool and constant shoulder use, and cricket only added more load to an already irritated area. The pain was frustrating and it was beginning to change the way he moved and worked throughout the day.

So we took a focused, process driven approach.

Our work together has centred around targeted treatment to reduce tension and irritation through the shoulder, paired with specific exercises for Jeff to build strength and restore range of motion at home.

But the biggest piece of the puzzle?
Jeff actually did the work.

He showed up consistently, stayed patient with the process, and committed to the exercises between sessions.

Because of that effort, we’ve been able to significantly reduce his shoulder pain. Jeff can now get through his coaching shifts without constantly adjusting for discomfort, and he’s back doing what he loves on the cricket field.

This is exactly what good recovery work looks like:
A team effort built on trust, consistency, and putting the right pieces in place.

Awesome work, Jeff 👏

Treating hip flexors, quads, glutes and spinal erectors for back and knee pain.

This was the last ongoing treatment in Millie's treatment plan for back and knee pain. I'm so happy to have been able to get to support her be able to take on the demands of being an athlete, martial arts instructor, and cafe worker. She's back to taking on the world without pain being a major factor.

Big love, Millie!
