Plyometrics and jump training teach your muscles and tendons to store and release energy fast. Think of it like a spring โ€” the quicker you load it, the more power you get back โšก๏ธ

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s actually happening: when a muscle lengthens rapidly and then immediately contracts, it produces far more force than a standard contraction alone. This is what we call the stretch-shortening cycle, and training it is one of the most effective ways to build power, protect tendons, and reduce injury risk ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Research recommends 40โ€“300 ground contacts per session depending on your level and goal. Beginners should start with band-assisted jumps and controlled landings. As your capacity and confidence grow, you can add resistance, shift from two legs to one, or even vary the surface you perform them on. Donโ€™t overlook horizontal exercises uses either, building power in the direction most sport is actually played is just as important as jumping up.
