💧 Floods, Water and the Divine Feminine
This year, we are seeing waters rise with unprecedented fury. The catastrophic floods in Paris, the deluge across Europe, on Australia's East coast and the unrelenting rains sweeping across parts of Asia and the Americas are not merely acts of nature. I've been seeing these as signals of a world being cleansed, an elemental purification that is reshaping our environment—and, by extension, ourselves.
Water, the most yin of the five elements, represents the deep feminine force within us all. As polar ice melts, it makes me aware that our hard polarised world is crumbling, flowing, downward and inward, carrying with her an energy that will return to stillness and restoration in a deep calming lake or ocean where we can then centre ourselves and reflect. Currently what we are witnessing around the world, is also a powerful force of transformation, washing away the structures that cannot withstand the weight of change. The waters rising symbolise to me the energy of the Divine Feminine that has been suppressed for centuries.
These floods are the planet’s response to imbalances we have long ignored, imbalances not only in our environment, but within our bodies, society and deep recesses of our beings.
Lately I have been researching ancient calendars , I find that in the Mayan tradition, This is the year of the Blue Storm representing purification, bringing with it cleansing rains and the lightning that tears down false structures. It mirrors the very essence of what we see now. Blue Storm is igniting a profound process of disintegration. This is not destruction for its own sake, but a necessary breaking down of all that is false, outdated, and illusory. What is collapsing under the weight of these waters is anything that does not align with the truth of who we are and who we are becoming.
These floods are not just physical events; they are symbolic of the purification of our own inner worlds as individuals and the collective. The body temple, as the Maya call it, is being purified, cleansed of old identities, belief systems, and structures that no longer serve our collective evolution. Just as Blue Storm clears the sky after a powerful thunderstorm, leaving the air crisp and new, this planetary cleansing is preparing us for the rebirth that follows.
This purification calls us to surrender in faith, to give up fear and who we think we are, to allow ourselves to be reshaped by forces greater than our own will. Surrender to the unknown, trust that in this process of disintegration, we are being prepared for something greater, something truer. Just as water quenches our thirst, this purification quenches our spiritual thirst, We are being called to let go of the old ways and open ourselves to the new, to stand in the fires of transformation and emerge reborn in the heart of All That Is.
This time of floods and climate catastrophes is not a punishment; it is a sacred initiation. It is water, in its most primal, feminine, yin form, returning us to balance, and from here on, only our true identity can survive—one that is aligned with the greater consciousness of the Earth, one that honours both the feminine and the masculine, the yin and the yang, the self and the collective. Through these storms, we are becoming. 💧
And so it is ✨
