💜 Women’s Health Week: say ‘yes to you’.

The RACGP is calling for reforms to improve access and equity in women’s healthcare. The Federal Government’s $573 million women’s health package will help, but barriers remain: nearly one in three women delayed seeing their GP in the past year, and more than one in 10 delayed or avoided care due to cost.

What needs to change:
🌸 fund and value longer consultations – speed isn’t the answer for complex care
🌸 tackle diagnostic delays and bias; endometriosis affects one in seven and diagnosis still takes six–eight years on average
🌸 address the hidden pay gap when complex care attracts higher out‑of‑pocket costs.

We’ll keep working with government and partners to reduce the gender care gap and support preventive, patient‑centred care. This week and every week, say ‘yes to you’ and book a GP appointment.
